Calogero Justice Awards

The Calogero Justice Award is named in honor of Chief Justice Pascal F. Calogero, Jr. who was elected to the Louisiana Supreme court in 1972. Calogero was sworn in as Chief Justice in 1990 and served on the Court for 36 years. At the Annual Fellows Gala the Louisiana Bar Foundation honors an individual or organization for a significant contribution to the Louisiana justice system.

President's Award

The President selects the recipient based upon their dedication and commitment to the Louisiana Bar Foundation (LBF), volunteer service above and beyond, leadership role in major LBF accomplishments, willingness to volunteer for new projects and assists the President in addressing concerns facing the LBF.

Curtis R. Boisfontaine Trial Advocacy Award

This trial advocacy award was established through an endowment to the Louisiana Bar Foundation in memory of Curtis R. Boisfontaine, who served as President of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel. Generous donations from Sessions, Fishman, Nathan & Israel, LLP, the Boisfontaine Family and friends established the fund. The award is given to a Louisiana attorney who exhibits long standing devotion to and excellence in trial practice and upholds the standards of ethics and consideration for the court, litigants and all counsel.

Horn Blower Award

The Horn Blower Award is given to a partner organization in recognition of outstanding support and leadership in assisting the Louisiana Bar Foundation in advancing an initiative, project or program.

Grantee Award for Excellence in Service and Programming

The Grantee Award for Excellence in Service and Programming recognizes a grantee for an innovative, imaginative program and/or public service in the legal arena. The award emphasizes creativity of the idea, efficiency of execution, outcomes of the project or program and its ability to be duplicated by other service programs and to be proven flexible enough to change course as emerging needs arise.
