Bringing together those dedicated to advancing justice


The two day event features the Grants Committee meeting, the Kids' Chance Committee meeting, the Annual Fellows Membership Meeting, and the Board of Directors meeting. The Annual Assembly culminates with the Annual Fellows Gala. This black-tie celebration honors the Distinguished Jurist, Distinguished Attorney, Distinguished Professor, and Calogero Justice Award recipient.

The Louisiana Bar Foundation's Annual Fellows Gala is held every spring. Lawyers, judges, and professors gather from across the state to support the LBF's mission to preserve, honor and improve our system of justice by funding, developing or otherwise promoting efforts which enhance the legal profession, increase public understanding of the legal system, and advance the reality of equal justice under the law.

The gala is a black-tie event and includes dinner, a silent auction, and live entertainment. The LBF officers are installed at this time. A patron party is held prior to the gala.

The Annual Fellows Membership Meeting is held in conjunction with the Annual Assembly. The meeting provides an opportunity for Fellows to be updated on LBF activities and elect new board members. The President's Award is presented and recognition is given to the current and past Distinguished Honorees and the Calogero Justice Award recipients.

Each year the LBF hosts an Annual Event in each Community Partnership Panel (CPP) region to allow the public to learn about LBF activities, local projects and initiatives.

As part of the LBF's commitment to strengthen grantee board leadership and the Louisiana's civil legal aid network, the LBF hosts board training for our grantees. The training is designed to strengthen leadership by reviewing board member responsibilities, program and administrative priorities for the organizations, and self-analysis/evaluation of mission outcome goals.
