POP UP TOUR Wrap Up

The LBF Pop Up Tour started in Mandeville and ended in Baton Rouge. Over a 3-week period, LBF leadership, volunteers, and grantees held informational sessions while sharing a meal with civil legal aid stakeholders in 9 regions of the state.

New this year, LBF provided one hour of professionalism CLE at each event. A total of 135 lawyers earned their hour of professionalism during their regional Pop Up. In addition to CLE this was an opportunity to learn more about the important work of the LBF and the impact of civil legal aid in each community. 2022-23 LBF President Alan Brackett highlighted the increased need for civil legal aid services throughout our state.

Each Pop Up featured presentations from the regional Community Partnership Panel chair, a local judicial officer, a LBF board member, and a local grantee representative. Panel chairs talked about the local issues and challenges. The judges highlighted the value of civil legal aid to the entire community. The grantees let everyone know how they are using LBF funding and the impact it had in the region. They also shared impactful stories and identified civil legal aid needs associated with recovery of multiple disasters.
